Off The Map
Patricia just deleted her blog today, Emberli folded up shop, and Andy, Josh and Rhett are gone. I'm sitting here a little lonelier in blogsburg today. Additionaly the last PIC post went over like a lead ballon.
Oh well. If any one else wants to announce retirement now’s not a good time. Wait till next month.
It could be worse, which reminds me...read Job for next week.

Brainstorming
This might seem odd but I need some help, and most everyone comes here...Plus we might get some use out of the answers at our next function.Someone has asked me about good outdoor party games for a group of adults. I was just like... Uhmm, you could... BLANK...
Anyone have any ideas for good outdoor party games for say...A company picnic or something...

Sarah's Great Grandma
Just to let you all know, Sarah's Great Grandmother Della Rowlands went home to be with her Savior yesterday afternoon. Sarah had gotten to spend the previous night with her helping give her medications to ease her pain but was not there when she passed. The Hospice nurses that were there said it was the most peaceful passings they had ever witnessed. Della was 95 years old and will be missed by her entire family. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. Please pray for the Rowlands/Reynolds families as they grieve the loss of a mighty woman of God.

Catch This!
This should probably be in the comments for the last post, but I feel it's important enough to warrant it's own space.
Peter and Patricia are liars. Their actual catch phrase, no doubt, should be "No doubt." Maybe Josh too to a lesser extent, but since he already has 17 catch phrases we'll let him off the hook. Am I not right about this people? Sit back and listen and you'll see that I am.

Maximus is Here!

Congratulations to Dan and Michelle. Baby Max is here!
Being a man I have already forgot some of the vitals. Ladies if you wouldn't mind helping me out with the details
I believe it was 12:30am on the 25th. 6lbs and some . He is doing great and there were only minor delivery complications. Mother and baby are doing well. Someone said Dan sounded out of it… which is normal too!

Bobby Crocker Cook-Off!
The grills weren't the only thing heating up at the P.I.C. 2nd Annual Bobby Crocker Cook-Off! The competition was heating up too! It was a great time at Dan and Michelle's as the guys cooked some great appetizers, main dishes and desserts! Appetizers included fried mushrooms with a variety of sauces (the soy/ginger sauce was awesome) by Peter and grilled sausage served on baguette's with a great sauce grilled by Leo. The main dish stood alone with Jeremy serving his Double Baked Sassy Ribs. Desserts were a tight competition. Dan started us off with a wonderful family recipe of Chocolate Mousse. This was followed by Chris' Brooklyn Blackout Cake. Both were delectable chocolate desserts. The final two desserts took a different flare. Matt prepared grilled pineapple topped with Nutella and a side of ice cream. Josh took to the grill with his Grilled Peaches - topped with blackberry sauce, ice cream and chocolate sauce. The whole night made for tough decisions for the ladies who were enjoying the food preparation being done by the men. Top honors for appetizers went to Leo, main dish to Jeremy and dessert to Dan. The winners were presented with camo decorated oven mitts. It was a super fun night filled with great food by everyone and awesome fellowship! Below are pictures from the night! Great job guys! You all did fabulous!

Jen's Mom in Surgery
Update:
Jen's mom is out of surgery and doing very well. The operation was successful and she is awake and doing fine. She should be home in a couple of days. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and calls. And thanks to God for watching over her.
Jen's mom went in for her surgery a little after 11AM today. It is supposed to be a 2 to 4 hour procedure. The doctors said the there's a 90% chance that everything will be fine and she'll be able to go home in a couple of days. But, as with any major surgery, there is always the chance of complications. Hold on, I'm getting a phone call from Jen. Ok, I'm back. The surgery is going very well so far. Praise the Lord! Still a little bit to go, but so far things are looking good. Thanks for all your prayers. I'll keep posting updates as they come in.

The Testimony of Tony
Several months ago I posted about Indianapolis Colts' head coach Tony Dungy, and his public Christian testimony in the wake of his son's unexpected suicide. This is an article that appeared on ESPN.com today. It's awesome to see a man so respected in the profession of professional sports have such a strong testimony for Christ and not be ashamed to talk about it. Very good article.
Lincoln Carter update.
I received this email from Heather last night.
Lincoln will be having surgery tomorrow (today) morning at 7:00am. I don't think Josh will have time to write an update, so this is all I can give you. It is a open heart surgery called the Norwood procedure. It actually is a common procedure lately, but the longest living survivor from it is seven so it is fairly new. It will take about two hours....I'll try to keep you updated.

Prayer Request
Sarah had a sonogram last friday and one of the things that was pointed out was our baby has a two vessel umbilical cord rather than a three vessel umbilical cord. The tech said that it was probably nothing to worry about since the sonogram looked good but that if the Dr. wanted to do more tests they would let us know. Well, Sarah got a call from her Doc yesterday saying that they want her to go down to UCSF to have a Level 2 sonogram and an Echo-cardiogram done on the baby. If all goes as planned we will head down to UCSF on monday the 19th to have this done. It seems that this is just to be sure there are no complications from the two vessel cord so we don't think that there is anything to worry about but we would covet your prayers over the next few days as we wait to have the tests done and then wait to hear the results.

Prayer Request for Jen's Mom
Update:
Jen's mom went down to Stanford this evening. They still aren't exactly when her surgery will be, but either Firday or Saturday. Jen is probably going down there with here dad tomorrow. They had a hard time finding a vein for the IV last night, so she's tired of being poked at and sitting around, but she's doing very well. She is a very strong lady. She once was admitted to the ICU and walked in under her own power. The doctors had never seen this before. This was many years ago, when she first had heart problems. Please continue to pray that the procedure will go without complication.
Jen's mom went to the emergency room tonight. She was scheduled to have surgery later this month for some pacemaker matinence, but there were some issues the last few days and they are moving the surgery up to tomorrow. She is as Kaiser tonight and I believe will be heading down to Standford tomorrow. She's doing fine now, but just pray that everything works out ok. Thanks.

Update on Lincoln Carter
I got this email from Heather this morning:
To all Friends and Family
Lincoln is here! At 6:21 PM Lincoln entered the world kicking and screaming! He was 5 lbs 9 oz and we are still waiting for the length....but he has his daddy's legs! Everything that could go perfect in delivery did! We could not have asked for a better delivery! Kristen did great and is now resting in the Cardiac ICU for close evaluation for at least 24 hrs. She did get to hold him for a few brief seconds before they took him to the Neonatal ICU. This will be tough for Kristen since they will be separated for a day or two (she has only seen pictures of him since delivery). Lincoln is stable and is being evaluated by the cardiologist and heart surgeons throughout the night as they decide what steps to take.
For those who know or know a little bit of medical jargon...this is for you. Lincoln's blood pressure is a little shallow but his heart rate it 150 bpm (approx) and in a normal sinus rhythm. The did have to intabate him because he needed some assistance breathing and to keep his oxygen saturation levels up. His APGAR is 8. He has a good temp and his color is great!
OK....getting back....most likely Lincoln will need surgery within a couple of days but it all depends on him and what they find on his Echo. He might just be stable enough for them to hold off for a week or two...but we just don't know. The next 48 hrs are crucial for Lincoln and his stability...so please be praying hard! We will update you tomorrow with more news....but for now we gotta get some sleep! Thank you and we love you all....GOD IS GOOD!!!
