legislation again

Hi,

That same lady is trying to pass the no spanking legislation again. It failed to pass last year thanks to so much public outcry I think. She has changed it a little bit but it still bans all spanking with an implement. I would encourage you to email your assembly people encouraging them to oppose this.

I'm not sure how this works but these are your local people: noreen evans, carole migden and patricia wiggins, and lynn woolsey

Even if you disagree with spanking this takes the right to parent down a slippery slope.

For more info and what to do

update on the blakes, friends

Hi,

I talked to Diana Blake yesterday. She said that Jon got a job with Swift trucking. This is a big answer to prayer. The route they gave him will have him drive locally and not across the country. They are really excited about that. They had a prayer request also. Diana's sister is pregnant. She will be a single mom, she doesn't have insurance and her job is a temp job. I think she has alot of family support though.

Jen Saunders will be having a boy. Between my friends and I in Lake County that makes 14 boys and 1 girl. So I guess come have a glass of water at my house if you want a boy.

Rob L. update - In a previous post I said Rob Lankford had a daughter. He actually has a son and his wife is expecting. I talked with Brian Borba and he said Rob is doing really well and felt confident in his judgment that day. He is walking with the Lord and is involved with a church. (I love to hear about RVC alumni walking with the Lord). Brian said we could continue to pray for him and his wife.

I love you guys,
Robin

prayer

Hi guys,For those that remember Eddie and Jaime Burns and Rob Lankford (94, 95, 96 RVC students) - there was an incident involving Eddie's cousin and Rob was the police officer that arrived on the scene. Rob fatally shot the woman.

Rob was CHP before becoming police. I keep up with him from Jen S/Brian Borba. Rob used to date my neighbor and was always really nice. He showed my kids his CHP car. He is married now and has a wife and daughter. He is really distraught over this and I'm the Burns family as well.

thanks for praying for them.

update on the Blakes

Hi guys,

I talked to Diana Blake yesterday. They are doing well back in Washington. Ainsley is walking and is 10 months now. They found a nice house to rent and are almost completely settled in. Diane is working for a doctors office and Jon is about to start truck driving school. He has 2 jobs already promised to him when he finishes. They are hopeful that Diana can work less when he starts the trucking job. They are in a good church and they like the Sunday School group.

On a side note: A little bit of wisdom to share - Its a very bad idea to let 4 boys help you paint when you are on the phone. A very bad idea. Either skip the helpers or skip the phone call.

Robin

- Jon and Diana I hope I got the details right. We miss you guys. :)

Lily Grace

As I'm sure most everyone has heard by now Lily Grace Bauer was born Jan. 18 @ 7:13 PM. 5lb. 3oz. 18in. We took her some on Tues. (1/22) but had to bring her back to the hospital today due to jaundice. Everything else is fine. She'll be spending the next day or two under the tanning light and that should take care of it. Please pray that it does and that we can all be home for good by the weekend.

If you're the type interested in baby pictures, check them out here. If not, enjoy this instead.

bruce and jessica need help

Bruce and Jessica thought the military was moving them completely. Something has changed and now they are responsible for packing. The military will only load the truck. If anybody has some time Wednesday or Thursday Bruce and Jessica could use some help packing. They may need boxes too. I don't know. It sounds like this was sort of sprung on them. They leave Friday.

Hi guys,

We would appreciate prayer for Matt's dad. He is going to have triple bypass surgery on Wednesday. He is in bad shape, but they caught the problem before he had a heart attack.

Christmas Tree Farm and Potluck

My favorite day of the year was made so much better by having so many friends to spend it with. The potluck was really yummy and it was fun getting to see so many friends. The Christmas tree farm was so fun. The day was perfect with blue skies and sunshine. Can't wait for next year.

Patricia and Alexis snuggle together before the Christmas tree farm.

Costume party

The costume party is this Saturday the 27th, at the Kuhner's at 6:30 pm. Leave a comment of what snack you'd like to bring. If you'd rather bring 3 simple prizes instead of food just put that down. Sarah will have hot cider, tea and water, but we can use someone to bring a few more drinks. Also someone to bring the plates, napkins and cups. Thanks!

The Big News from the Boyds

My purse has been found! ok so its not big news like Allison or anything, but my purse has been missing for two+ weeks AND it was lost the week before that for a week. Confusing? I know. I've actually been losing my purse weekly for the last month. This last time I thought it was a goner and I dreaded seeing my last three dollars in my bank account being wiped out by some petty thief. I also dreaded my Kaiser appointments (luke's and mine) where I had to see the same receptionists and repeat the line, "my purse is lost again and I still don't have an ID or my kaiser card." After 3 appointments a week for a month it gets really embarrassing.

So more seriously, I've been praying, "Lord you know where my purse is and when I really need it you can send it back." So thank you Lord for my purse.

No baby yet but they did a stress test and I have loads of fluid and the baby is doing great. She/He waved a little hand at us on the ultrasound - sooo adorable. They will induce on the 18th if I haven't gone into labor.

So where was the purse? Kaiser.
