700 billion bailout, eat your vegetables

For anyone who doesn't like any bill going through legislation I thought I would post info for you to contact your senators.
It is really easy to call these local numbers (the Washington DC mailboxes were full today I wonder why)
Barbara Boxer (415) 403-0100
Senator Feinstein
(415) 393-0707
Lynn Woolsey 202-225-5161, 707-542-7182

Also I've been tracking the food we eat on the menu tracker http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov It is fun and makes me realize how much butter and oil I eat :( . Surprisingly I eat enough veggies!

Sarah Kuhner

Sarah is home from the hospital and doing better. You can check her blog for details.

Monday, August 11, 2008

Hi guys - I got this note from the church.

Chris and Sarah Kuhner have asked prayer for Sarah and their unborn baby. Sarah is 26 weeks along and started having contractions last night. She is currently in the hospital and they have given the baby medicine to help develop his/her lungs. The earliest the Drs. like to deliver is 34 weeks. Sarah will be in the hospital till Thursday and is on possible bed rest.

Please pray the baby will continue developing and wait to make his/her arrival as well as peace for Chris & Sarah.

“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”

Needs A Home

My buddy Danno who I have asked for prayer for in the past found out the other day that he has to be out of his apartment by June 1st. He's been unable to find another residence so far. If you happen to see, have, or know of something in the $600 to $800 range, even if its just a room for rent, that allows well behaved dogs, please let me know. And please pray that something will turn up soon as he's obviously running out of time. Here's my number just in case you don't have it, 292-3174. This is Andy by the way.

update - prayer request

Update: My sister called today and said the boy woke up today and even played a thumb war with his mom. Thank you for praying. Praise the Lord!

Some of you know my brother-in-law Matt Auch. His brother Josh is a volunteer firefighter in Livermore Co. He had to go to a call last night for a six year old boy. The boy's dad was driving down the driveway with his four boys in the back of the pickup truck. One of the boys fell out of the back of the pickup and was run over by trailer being pulled. The boy's dad is also a firefighter and was able to resuscitate the boy, but he is in the critical condition with multiple skull fractures and swelling on the brain.

They had moved into Livermore that day. Matt B (knowing little boys) made the comment that one of his brothers may have accidentally pushed him out. Please pray for this family.

legislation again

Hi,

That same lady is trying to pass the no spanking legislation again. It failed to pass last year thanks to so much public outcry I think. She has changed it a little bit but it still bans all spanking with an implement. I would encourage you to email your assembly people encouraging them to oppose this.

I'm not sure how this works but these are your local people: noreen evans, carole migden and patricia wiggins, and lynn woolsey

Even if you disagree with spanking this takes the right to parent down a slippery slope.

update on the blakes, friends

Hi,

I talked to Diana Blake yesterday. She said that Jon got a job with Swift trucking. This is a big answer to prayer. The route they gave him will have him drive locally and not across the country. They are really excited about that. They had a prayer request also. Diana's sister is pregnant. She will be a single mom, she doesn't have insurance and her job is a temp job. I think she has alot of family support though.

Jen Saunders will be having a boy. Between my friends and I in Lake County that makes 14 boys and 1 girl. So I guess come have a glass of water at my house if you want a boy.

Rob L. update - In a previous post I said Rob Lankford had a daughter. He actually has a son and his wife is expecting. I talked with Brian Borba and he said Rob is doing really well and felt confident in his judgment that day. He is walking with the Lord and is involved with a church. (I love to hear about RVC alumni walking with the Lord). Brian said we could continue to pray for him and his wife.

I love you guys,
Robin

prayer

Hi guys,For those that remember Eddie and Jaime Burns and Rob Lankford (94, 95, 96 RVC students) - there was an incident involving Eddie's cousin and Rob was the police officer that arrived on the scene. Rob fatally shot the woman.

Rob was CHP before becoming police. I keep up with him from Jen S/Brian Borba. Rob used to date my neighbor and was always really nice. He showed my kids his CHP car. He is married now and has a wife and daughter. He is really distraught over this and I'm the Burns family as well.

thanks for praying for them.

Robin

update on the Blakes

Hi guys,

I talked to Diana Blake yesterday. They are doing well back in Washington. Ainsley is walking and is 10 months now. They found a nice house to rent and are almost completely settled in. Diane is working for a doctors office and Jon is about to start truck driving school. He has 2 jobs already promised to him when he finishes. They are hopeful that Diana can work less when he starts the trucking job. They are in a good church and they like the Sunday School group.

On a side note: A little bit of wisdom to share - Its a very bad idea to let 4 boys help you paint when you are on the phone. A very bad idea. Either skip the helpers or skip the phone call.

Robin

- Jon and Diana I hope I got the details right. We miss you guys. :)

Lily Grace

As I'm sure most everyone has heard by now Lily Grace Bauer was born Jan. 18 @ 7:13 PM. 5lb. 3oz. 18in. We took her some on Tues. (1/22) but had to bring her back to the hospital today due to jaundice. Everything else is fine. She'll be spending the next day or two under the tanning light and that should take care of it. Please pray that it does and that we can all be home for good by the weekend.

If you're the type interested in baby pictures, check them out here. If not, enjoy this instead.
